For the first time ever, ballet is coming to the Historic Fischer Theatre!

Join us for a special afternoon of music, movement, and storytelling as the Dance Theatre of Illinois travels from Champaign to Danville to present the beloved Peter and the Wolf on the Fischer stage.

Originally composed by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936, Peter and the Wolf is a beloved musical fairy tale created to help children discover the instruments of the orchestra. Each character is represented by a different instrument and musical theme, bringing the story to life through sound in a way that is both entertaining and educational.

This ballet adaptation adds another layer to the experience by combining Prokofiev’s iconic score with expressive movement and dance. Young audiences can explore how music, emotion, character, and movement work together while following a story of bravery, curiosity, and wit.
